Abstract

The first volume of the HSS Journal was met with much acclaim for its scientific content and concept. This second volume (actually, issue II-1) continues in that tradition, and we are presently in the midst of reviewing manuscripts for the next edition, due out in press after the summer of 2006.
The success of any journal depends on many factors. The most important of these are the manuscripts that are submitted and the diligence of the peer reviewers who give their time freely. The guidance by the editorial board is crucial as is the support by the hospital and its senior management.
Journal successes are also predicated upon listening to the thoughts of the readers. Does the format of this journal meet your needs? As to ongoing series, we will have a focus on perioperative problems, a CPC, and radiology corner. What other areas would you like to see added in future volumes?
We look forward to your comments, thoughts, and continued support of the journal.
