Abstract
Following a reluctant start, GPs are becoming one of the fastest growing Internet user groups in the UK with 61 per cent of GP's now having access to the net. Initially usage appeared to be limited to those with home PCs or the self confessed ‘techies’ but now, the availability of PCs and cheap Internet connections in many practices is allowing an increasing number to get on line. Not surprisingly, many GPs can be found glued to the Internet in the middle of the night — when being on call means a sleepless night anyway.
