Abstract

We are delighted to celebrate our phenomenal reviewers who will be recognized every month. The quality of the journal is entirely dependent on the authors for choosing our journal for their manuscripts and reviewers for ensuring that the submissions are improved. The spotlighted reviewers were selected based on the number, quality and turnaround time of manuscripts reviewed during the last two years. We are also grateful to our Editorial Board for sharing the burden of the reviews.
Her affinity for research burgeoned during her undergraduate studies, culminating in an honors thesis investigating the impact of inflammation on cell proliferation. This early interest propelled her to pursue a Master of Science degree, delving deeper into the pathophysiology of urolithiasis. Currently, Dr. Bjazevic’s research pursuits revolve around elucidating the underlying causes of urinary stone disease. She focuses particularly on dysbiosis of the microbiome and the influence of factors such as exposure to vitamins, toxins, urinary pathogens, and antibiotics. Dr. Bjazevic’s research endeavors have been generously supported by various prestigious grants, including the Urology Care Foundation AUA Research Scholar Award, the Canadian Urological Association Scholarship Foundation Early Investigator Research Grant, and the Northeastern Section of the American Urological Association Datta G. Wagle Young Investigators Award. In addition, her contributions to the field have been acknowledged through various honors, including the Western University Academic Merit Award, the AUA Outstanding Graduate Scholar Award, and the Dr. John Denstedt Research Excellence Award.
