Gasless Laparoscopy with Standard Instrumentation: Initial Experience with Tenckhoff Catheter Placement

ABSTRACT

A new technique for gasless laparoscopy using standard, readily available instruments is described. Its use in placement of Tenckhoff peritoneal dialysis catheters is detailed. The technique offers advantages over established techniques requiring carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum while avoiding the need to purchase expensive gasless laparoscopy equipment.
