Abstract

A 37-year-old man attends your afternoon surgery complaining of troublesome indigestion symptoms for the past 3 months. There is no vomiting or weight loss. He is not taking any regular prescribed medication. He received empirical H. pylori eradication therapy with amoxicillin, clarithromycin and omeprazole 4 weeks ago, but unfortunately, this has failed to improve his symptoms.
Prescribe lansoprazole for 1 month Prescribe metoclopramide for 1 month Prescribe ranitidine for 1 month Refer for endoscopy E. Repeat H. pylori eradication therapy using a different drug regime
