Recent Advances in Biomedicine and Pharmaceutics: New Trends and Technology

Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing as well as dispensing drugs and medicines. It is a health profession that links health sciences with chemical sciences and aims to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. As one of the few conferences at the forefront of fundamental and technical science, biological and medical disciplines, pharmaceutics science technology, the 2nd International Conference on Biomedicine and Pharmaceutics (ICBP2014) (http://icbp.jluzh.com) aims to provide an opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and educators to exchange research evidence, practical experiences, and innovative ideas on issues related to biomedicine and pharmaceutics. It is a multidisciplinary conference that brings together academic and industrial scientists from medicine, biology, chemistry, informatics, and statistics.

The articles submitted to ICBP2014 cover various issues and aspects of biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, biotechnology, biomechanics, biological electronic information, chemical and pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical microbiology, and other related topics. The conference has received more than 450 manuscripts, each submission was peer-reviewed by at least 2 anonymous reviewers, and a total of 137 meeting abstracts and 96 extended abstracts were accepted as oral and poster presentations.

Biomedicine and pharmaceutics refer to the field of science that represent the basis and advanced knowledge on life science. The development of comparative discipline continuously promotes the fusion of the medicine, biology, and pharmacology. Nowadays, a great many scientists around the world have kept scaling new heights in biomedicine and pharmaceutics after overcoming numerous obstacles through arduous efforts. In this context, new theory, technology, and achievement appeared one by one. We appreciate the efforts that many have made in the quest to advance scientific research and wish for them to achieve much more progress in their field.

Here, the ICBP2014 committee is thankful for the particular journal “Journal of Investigative Medicine” for publishing these selected abstracts in a supplemental issue presented in the conference. We hope many researchers would benefit from the selected papers.
