In the past several months, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and other hospital groups have been lobbying for several pieces of legislation that would reduce the impact of the Balanced Budget Act's strict Medicare spending limits. In addition, AHA and others are also lobbying to change the Health Care Financing Administration's proposed Outpatient Prospective Payment System to alleviate its impact on hospital outpatient programs.
