Abstract

Dear Readers, Authors, Reviewers, and Board Members,
Our sixth year as the LDR&P editorial team will come to a close in 2021. Please spread the word for this great opportunity!
Your editorial team, Linda H. Mason and Paul Haspel
The Council for Exceptional Children, Division for Learning Disabilities (DLD), seeks applications for a new Editor of Learning Disabilities Research and Practice(LDR&P) for a 3–year term beginning January 1, 2022. The new editor would experience a transition period in summer/fall 2021, with details to be worked out with the current Editor. The Editor is considered an Ex–Officio member of the DLD Executive Committee. A Co–Editor team will also be considered.
LDR&P provides a forum for presentation of current research in the field of learning disabilities and acts as a vehicle for dissemination of information important to practitioners in the field. Because learning disabilities is a multidisciplinary field of study, LDR&P publishes articles addressing the nature and characteristics of children and adults with learning disabilities, attention–deficit hyperactive disorder, program development, assessment practices, and instruction from multiple perspectives. In so doing, LDR&P provides valuable information to professionals involved in diverse disciplines, including special education, school psychology, counseling, reading, and medicine. Two sections—research and practice—are distinguished with respect to content and manuscript style.
Nominations for the position of Editor (or Co–Editor's), including self–nominations, should be sent to DLD's Publication and Communications Committee Chair, Kristen Beach at
Candidates will be contacted and asked to submit the following by January 1, 2021: (1) Vision statement for the journal, (2) Curriculum Vitae, (3) Name and contact information for three references, and (4) Letter documenting institutional support for assuming Editorship. If applying as Co–Editor's, each Co–Editor should submit an application and should indicate intent to coedit the journal within the application. Interviews with finalists will be conducted in February 2021, with decisions communicated by late Spring 2021. The new Editor(s) will work with the current Editor during a transition period in summer/fall 2021 and will assume the Editor role in January 2022.
The following criteria will be utilized when assessing candidates:
