Submit a Nomination for the Elizabeth A. H. Green School Educator Award
This award is given annually to a school string teacher with a current and distinguished career in a school orchestral setting. Past recipients include Betsy Maliszewski, Alison Mayes, Denice Haney, James Palmer, and many other distinguished string educators. The award will be presented at the 2022 ASTA National Conference, March 16 to 19 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Call for Proposals: Research Poster Session at the 2022 ASTA National Conference
Submit your research for the poster session at 2022 ASTA National Conference, March 16 to 19 in Atlanta, Georgia. We are accepting submissions of research projects being conducted by undergraduate students, graduate students, university faculty, and practicing teachers in public or private schools. The poster session is open to reports of research involving any aspect of string playing and teaching—including those that are philosophical, theoretical, or historical in nature, as well as reports that are qualitative or quantitative in design.
Look for guidelines and procedures at www.astastrings.org under National Conference/Education. The deadline for poster proposals is October 15, 2021.
Call for Nominations: 2022 String Researcher Award
Each year, ASTA sponsors an award to recognize excellence in string research. This year, the String Researcher Award will honor long-term achievement in research. The award will be presented at the 2022 ASTA National Conference, March 16 to 19 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nominations may come from any ASTA member; self-nomination is permitted. For more information and to submit a nomination, go to www.astastrings.org and look under Membership/Awards. Nominations are due by October 30, 2021.
Share Your Teaching Tips in the Journal
Articles in the American String Teacher journal are written by ASTA members for ASTA members. We are currently looking for Teaching Tips articles—short articles that share your experience and advice in the studio or K-12 classroom. Articles can range from practical teaching strategies to innovative research-based work.
