Abstract
In a recent paper, Mukhopadhyay and Sen (Sequential Anal. 12 (1993), 179-197) had introduced the ideas of piecewise replicated stopping numbers and explored their roles in sequential estimation. Later, Mukhopadhyay and Datta (Sequential Anal. 13 (1994), 253-276) extended such roles of piecewise sampling in the setup of multistage experimentations. In the present note, we investigate some of the classical problems in estimation, comparing means, and selecting the laTgest mean, in the presence of optimal resource allocation under a general framework of piecewise sequential sampling scheme.
