Abstract

Li, R.-H. (2014). Reliability and validity of a shorter Chinese version for Ryff’s psychological well-being scale. Health Education Journal, 73(4), 446-452. https://doi.org/10.1177/0017896913485743
Sage has been made aware of unreferenced overlap between this article and a prior publication by the same author.
Following receipt of this information, Sage and the Journal Editor conducted an internal review of the article and contacted the author for comments, following which the author has responded to these concerns, and provided the following explanation:
The author overlooked the citation of prior related work1, which was presented at the 4th Asian Psychological Association Conference, held at Tarumanagara University, Jakarta, Indonesia, from Thursday, July 5 through to Saturday, July 7, 2012, and subsequently published as a Conference Proceedings chapter.
To make the work more legible and accessible, it was rewritten and published in the Health Education Journal (HEJ). The novelty of the contribution of HEJ from the conference proceedings lies in its organization and readability. Retrospective permission has been received from the previous publisher (Cambridge Scholar Publishing) to republish the work in HEJ.
Reference to the Conference Proceedings chapter has been added at the beginning of the Introduction section of the article, stating that “The paper was rewritten and organized from Li’s (2013) conference proceeding chapter 28”.
The author apologizes to readers for this inadvertent error.
The Journal Editor accepts this explanation and the corrective actions taken by the author and publisher.
