Abstract
The re-writing, new or possibility of writing state or federal legislation to cover the funding needs of the educationally handicapped and/or learning disabled child is rapidly becoming a national dilema or cause celebré. The view taken is dependent upon where one stands for the viewing. Here is added another factor to the obvious lay and professional interests and concern; politics. We have seen the commentary from Texas (Journal of Learning Disabilities, Volume 1, No. 1, January 1968) and now we hear from California with a report of what may be accomplished with, as the authors describe, “permissive” legislation.—C.C.E.
