This analysis proposes a typology of domestic architecture, within the context of
earlier efforts at a Palestinian typology and the background of Greek and Roman
house typologies. It draws on recent evidence from Roman-period archaeological
sites, especially from the Galilee but including examples from other regions of the
Levant (Gaulanitis, Samaritis, Judea, Peraea, the Negev).
