Abstract

Many individuals have contacted me about the long, tedious, laborious process of submitting to Gifted Education International. In order to expedite things, I have developed a step-by-step procedure to prepare you to submit a paper, book review, interview, or brief report.
First go to https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com.gei THEN:
Here are the steps: Step 1: The submitter has to click on Research Paper or Interview or Book Review, or Literature Review, or Educational Software Review, or Topical Discussion or Doctoral Dissertation or Test Review.
THEN the submitter enters the Title of the paper, then the abstract. Step 2: THEN the submitter uploads the various files that they have (main paper, tables, charts, graphs, pictures). (It should be noted that color pictures will be charged extra by SAGE. Color pictures will appear in color in the DOI) Step 3: THEN the submitter will list key words and attributes (for example, gifted, talented, creative, IQ testing). Step 4: THEN the submitter will indicate their names as author or authors and their institutional affiliations. Please be complete. Step 5: THEN the submitters will complete a DETAILS AND COMMENTS section.
To be specific, all submitters must indicate:
Funders/funding (if any)
Number of figures (if any)
Number of tables (if any)
Number of words (this must be provided or at least an approximation)
Has the paper been submitted previously? (Yes or No)
Has the paper been submitted solely to this journal? (Yes or No)
Does research meet ethical guidelines? (Yes or No)
Is there any Conflict of Interest? (If so, explain)
Supplementary materials? (be specific)
Preprint identifier?
Step 6: Review and submit
At this point, your paper or book review or literature review or research study will enter the SAGE system. It will then be sent out for Editorial Review. Depending on the time of year, this could take a few weeks or a few months.
There is much confusion about ORCID—it is NOT mandatory, it is NOT compulsory, it is NOT required.
It is optional.
In terms of artwork:
Figures must be high resolution (at least 300 dpi).
They should be submitted exactly as they should appear in the journal.
Line art should be submitted as vector-based (.eps) files.
Images are best submitted separately from the text document.
Please do not embed images into your file, as embedding raster image files (photographs) in Word or similar programs automatically reduces the resolution below what is needed for quality print publication.
Please see the “Artwork Submission Guidelines” online for more detailed information.
Thanks and best regards and all good wishes!
