Abstract

Upcoming Meetings for the Aossm
27th Annual Meeting June 28 to July 1, 2001 Keystone Resort Keystone, Colorado
The 27th annual meeting is a great opportunity to combine family outdoor activities in beautiful Keystone, Colorado, with intellectual pursuits. Hear Neal Beidleman, mountaineer, vividly expound on his experiences recounted in the Jon Krakauer book, Into Thin Air. Profit from the perspectives of the Socratic Debate and three compelling symposia: the patellofemoral joint, failed anterior instability, and failed ACL surgery. Do not miss out on the “Young Sports Medicine Specialists’ Workshop” that was sold out last year. Savor the opportunity at this year's program, “Sideline Decisions & Close Encounters.” Visit our website at www.sportsmed.org to check out the exciting instructional courses and much, much more!
Sports Medicine & Hockey: A Summit for the NHL and Beyond August 24 to 26, 2001 Toronto Hilton Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Sports Medicine & Hockey: A Summit for the NHL and Beyond is an exciting new joint venture between AOSSM and the NHL Physicians Society. Get the latest information on concussions in the hockey player. Hear experts on the diagnosis and treatment of sports hernias and their relationship to hockey groin injuries. Explore the impact of equipment development and testing on prevention of hockey injuries. Look for the release of our preliminary program in early May. Call 877/321-3500 to get on the mailing list.
Surgical Skills Course: Comprehensive Surgery for the Athlete's Shoulder September 28 to 30, 2001 Orthopaedic Learning Center Rosemont, Illinois
Remember to save the date for this AOSSM shoulder surgical skills course at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont (near O'Hare). This will be a great transitional course between open and arthroscopic techniques. Attendees will reap the rewards of learning directly from the orthopaedic sports medicine masters. The impact of this educational experience will be further augmented by the very design of the course. A big plus is that each station will have two specimens, and attendees will remain in a single group for the entire 3-day course. The program will be coming your way in June. You can easily get on the mailing list by sending an e-mail message to
