Determination of the serum anti-bodies (TB-Test) in the diagnosis of urogenital tubercolosis: Preliminary note

The Authors report the results concerning the serological test (TB-test) used for diagnosing tubercolosis. They compare three groups of patients: the first group is represented by 19 patients suffering from urogenital tubercolosis; the second group is represented by 9 patients having preexistant lung tubercolosis and now healed; the third group is represented by 12 healthy patients. The TB-test values among the three groups are compared with statistical tests (χ-square and t-test). It is demonstrated that there is a statistical significant difference between the values obtained among the first group and the third one. No statistical significant difference is demonstrated between the second and the third group. The Authors conclude that, although tubercolosis diagnosis is of the cultural type, TB-test may have a certain utility in diagnostic methods.
