A joint Ad Hoc Committee of the American Society of Liposuction Surgery (ASLSS) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) was formed to create the following guidelines for liposuction surgery. The members of this committee include: Richard L. Dolsky, MD; Robert F. Jackson, MD; Robert W. Alexander, MD, DMD; Guillermo D. Castillo, MD; Claude H. Crockett, Jr., MD; C. William Hanke, MD; Edward B. Lack, MD; Marc S. Leventhal, MD; and Howard A. Tobin, MD. These guidelines were presented to and passed to and passed by the ASLSS and AACS Board of Trustees on January 27, 1999.
