Brain cryosections were incubated with patient or control serum (1:10) in the first step, and in the second step with Alexa488-labelled goat anti-human immunoglobulin G, containing DAPI (blue) for counterstaining of the nuclei. Positive reactions exhibit a fine granular spongy fluorescence (green) on hippocampal and cerebellar granular and molecular layers with serum of patient 1, but not with control serum.
