Abstract
SARs are not necessarily the best approach to establishing capital accumulation programs for all companies. To decide what it should do, a company should set its objectives, recognize the practical constraints on what it can do, compare alternatives and select the one or ones that fit the objectives and constraints best, and manage the final program in a way likely to produce the deserved results.
