Machining performance of composite textured tools in turning GCr15 bearing steel

In order to study the effects of solid lubricants and texture synergy on the machining performance of GGr15 bearing steel. Using the non-smooth, wear-resistant groove patterns on the surfaces of shellfish and sharks as bionic models, a combined groove-type micro-texture is prepared on the front surface of the lathe tool. The changes in cutting force and equivalent stress of the tool under different working conditions are simulated and predicted using the finite element numerical simulation software AdvantEdge. Verification is conducted through cutting experiments, and a comprehensive evaluation is performed by combining tool wear and surface quality.The optimal texture parameters obtained through orthogonal experiments are a spacing of 250 µm, a width of 60 µm, and a depth of 44 µm. The results show that under the synergistic effect of solid lubricants and textures, the surface roughness of the workpiece is reduced by 1.06% to 14.08%, and the cutting force is reduced by 0.6% to 19.7%. The research results of this paper have important reference significance for realizing the efficient processing and high quality manufacturing of GCr 15 bearing steel.
