Abstract

Original article: Briley, D. A., & Tucker-Drob, E. M. (2013). Explaining the increasing heritability of cognitive ability across development: A meta-analysis of longitudinal twin and adoption studies. Psychological Science, 24(9), 1704–1713. https://doi.org/10.1177/0956797613478618
Because of a coding error, Figure 2 in the original published version of the article displayed an incorrect trendline for the change in the proportion of variance attributable to the nonshared environment as a function of the time lag between assessments. This Corrigendum is correcting the error. The parameter estimates were reported correctly in Table 2 and in the text, and all interpretation in the text was based on the correct results from Table 2. Thus, the conclusions of the study were unaffected by this error. For reproducible code and data for all analyses included in the article, see https://osf.io/3yp8x/.

Predicted amount of change in the proportion of variance accounted for by genes, the shared environment, and the nonshared environment across time intervals between assessments. Shading represents ±1 SE.
