Abstract

Naskar M, Ghosh R, Das S, Paruya DK, Saradar B, Yadava MG and Bera S (2021) Grass phytoliths in surface sediments of the Sunderbans, India and their implications in reconstructing past deltaic environmental changes. The Holocene (11), 1193–1208. (DOI: 10.1177/09596836211041736)
In Figure 6 of the article, images of some diagnostic phytolith morphotypes from the grasses of true mangrove zones, as well as mangrove-associated and non-mangrove zones were presented as visual representations of the principal phytolith types recovered from the Sunderbans delta. However, the original sources of these images were not properly acknowledged. The correct citation should read: “Adapted from Plates VI–XV, Naskar, 2017”.
Itemized list of the phytolith images, their original and prior published sources are provided below.
Additionally, the diagrams presented in Figures 6 and 7, which illustrate the stages of plant succession along the Sunderbans coast, were included without appropriate citation of their original sources. These diagrams should be correctly referenced as: “Modified after Sen and Banerjee, 1990, and Ghosh et al., 2011”.
The authors apologize to the readers for these inadvertent oversights.
