Block Family Memorial Grant recipients

The RANZCP would like to congratulate the 2012 recipients of the Research and Education Foundation’s Block Family Memorial Grant in Perinatal and Infant Psychiatry. This grant was established in 2009 to encourage further training focusing on perinatal and infant psychiatry research in Australia and New Zealand, and is funded by a donation from the Block family.

The recipients for the grants for 2012 were Dr Karen Gwee (Victoria) currently studying the Parent–Infant Psychotherapy Program at Columbia University, New York. Dr Laura Kean (Wellington) has been funded to complete the Psychiatry Infant Observation Training Program at the New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry and Dr Andrew McKensey (New South Wales) will use the funds to complete the Circle of Security Parenting Training in Sydney.

The grant comprised a sum of up to A$3000 per applicant. Applications for the grant, available to all RANZCP trainees and College Fellows in the first five years of Fellowship, will re-open towards the end of the year.
