Abstract

Dogs have 1 head—but Cerberus, in Greek mythology and Fluffy, in the Harry Potter series have 3 heads. Figure 1 looks, to us, like a 2-headed dog. Remarkably, this “dog” is actually seen in the laminated membrane of a hydatid cyst!

Laminated membrane of a hydatid cyst resembling a 2-headed dog.

The same image, turned sideways, resembles a sea-monster . . . or a rocking horse.
During the process of taking the image, we accidentally rotated it clockwise through 90 degrees—and saw a sea monster! Or is it a rocking horse? (Figure 1).
