Abstract

I would like to share that Tony Beech has decided to step down as Associate Editor after many years of excellence in this role. I want to thank him for all of his hard work and expertise. His breadth and depth of knowledge on a diverse range of topics in sexual offending research – as a submitting author, reviewer, and Associate Editor – have been an essential contribution to the successes of this journal. A new Associate Editor will be announced in a later issue.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to note my efforts over the past year and a half, as Editor-in-Chief, to increase the diversity of the Editorial Board in order to better reflect our field and the disciplines it draws from. More work is needed, but women are now 47% of the Board members (from 28%), and there is also a greater range in age, career stage, ethnicity, discipline, and nationality. I believe this greater diversity will benefit the journal because more and different perspectives can strengthen its content, peer review process, and potential impact on policies and practices.
