Abstract

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a rare connective tissue disorder characterized by a degeneration of the elastic fibers of the dermis. A 39‐year‐old female presented with a “cobblestone” skin on the neck along with recurrent episodes of black stool. Physical examination revealed yellowish firm plaques with a “plucked chicken skin” appearance and angioid streaks in both eyes. Skin histology confirmed the diagnosis of PXE. Early diagnosis of this disorder is important for minimalizing systemic complications.
