A 4-year-old boy presented with a scaly patch of hair loss over the scalp for 1 week. Wood’s light examination revealed a blue-green fluorescence. Dermoscopy showed Morse code-like hairs (inset), comma hairs, and zigzag hairs. Due to the blue-green fluorescence under Wood’s light1 and characteristic dermoscopic findings,2 a diagnosis of tinea capitis was made. Complete resolution was achieved after treatment with griseofulvin 20 mg/kg/d for 8 weeks.
