Abstract
During the EJCN Reviewer of the year and CCNAP Networking Reception during the European Society of Cardiology congress, we acknowledged the importance of our highly valued reviewers and authors of the journal with a diploma. Awards were given to the 10 reviewers who made the most reviews and the 10 who accomplished the highest rated reviews during 2017. Among authors, the first author of the 10 top cited papers and the 10 top downloaded articles in 2017 received awards.

This year approximately 50 reviewers and authors attended the event in a very nice, cosy restaurant in the middle of the beautiful city of Munich. While the crowd enjoyed a drink and some traditional German food, the chair of the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP), Ekaterini Lambrinou, pointed out the importance of the journal within the CCNAP, and European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing (EJCN) co-editor Anna Strömberg presented the awards and handed out the diplomas to the awardees who attended the reception.
The awardee for the top cited paper, Lynne Hinterbuchner, says she submitted her article to the EJCN because the journal focuses on nurses and allied professionals and she wants to disseminate her research to this specific group of health care professionals. She also points out that reviewing for the journal is important for her because it shows you what kind of research is going on, it will make you a better writer and it supports research and researchers.
It was a really nice evening and the EJCN and CCNAP would like to thank everyone who attended the reception and who review for and submit to the journal!
