Abstract

We would like to invite authors to publish research articles in the
The theme of this issue aims to merge the reflective insights from two recent conferences: eCAADe 2023 on digital design and its current perspectives, and eCAADe 2024 on data-driven intelligence. In 2023, the evolution of digital design was revisited, emphasizing the need for sustainable, participatory, and inclusive approaches in architecture. In 2024, these principles were further examined and integrated with the transformative potential of data-driven intelligence.
Both conferences, held one year apart, were greatly influenced by a significant societal moment: the introduction of Large Language Models and ChatGPT into our daily lives in the latter half of 2022. Since then, a new generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications have become widely available and have continued to evolve at a fast pace. They are reshaping not only our everyday life but also the field of architecture, offering new tools for coding and decision-making as well as for envisioning and optimizing architectural designs.
This call seeks investigations and critical reflections on the role of these new realities in digital design and their potential to redefine the practice of architecture in the future. In this light, we invite contributions that explore not only AI oriented approaches but also other emerging directions at the intersection of digital design and data-driven methodologies.
The submissions should be a full-length paper (4000–6000 words) complete with illustrations. The main body of the paper is to be preceded by an abstract of less than 150 words, as well as a list of 4 to 8 keywords. The submitted research article should be complete and original, not published elsewhere and not currently under consideration for another journal.

Follow the “Research Articles” guidelines.
The preferred format for your manuscript is MSWord. LaTeX files are also accepted. MSWord and (La)Tex templates are available on the Manuscript Submission Guidelines page.
Microsoft Word guidelines:
There is no need to follow a specific template when submitting your manuscript in MSWord. However, please ensure your heading levels are clear, and the sections clearly defined.
Please use Sage Vancouver referencing protocols: https://uk.sagepub.com/sites/default/files/sage_vancouver_reference_style_1.pdf (these are different to the eCAADe Conference referencing style).
