Abstract

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Sally S. Cohen, PhD, RN, FAAN as Deputy Editor of PPNP.
Dr. Cohen is Associate Professor and Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nursing and Health Policy Collaborative at the University of New Mexico. She also serves as a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Center for Health Media and Policy at Hunter College. She is an expert in several areas of health policy, and particularly in child health, early care and education, and children’s rights. As Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nursing and Health Policy Collaborative at the University of New Mexico, she directs the health policy concentration in the PhD in Nursing Program. A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Dr. Cohen is widely recognized as a talented writer, editor and policy analyst.
As Deputy Editor of PPNP, Dr. Cohen will assist with a range of responsibilities, working closely with the Editorial Board to keep the journal a vital forum for nursing and health policy research, analysis and commentary. (Readers will notice that she has contributed this issue’s Editorial). She is a welcome addition to the journal, and I look forward to working with her!
