An article or manuscript submitted for publication in the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound will be received and entered into the editorial review process with the understanding that it is submitted solely to this Journal and that no substantial portion of it is being submitted elsewhere.

Book Reviews
Books are accepted for review. No books will be returned. Publishers should send copies for review to the editorial office.
Case Reports
Case reports of rare or unusual findings, either normal or pathologic, will be considered for publication. These reports should contain an introductory paragraph, patient description, methods, results, and discussion.
Doppler Digest
Doppler digest consists of a brief case description and one or two images. The submission should be no longer than one page. Rare findings or images of an educational nature will be considered.
Letters to the Editor
Letters to the editor must be no longer than 500 words and will be considered for publication if it clarifies a recent article or presents an opposing view. The authors of the original article will be provided with an opportunity to respond.
References
Unpublished data and personal communications are not to be cited as references; references to articles in press must include authors’ names, title of article, and name of journal. The reference list should be typed double-spaced on a separate page in numeric order as the citations appear in the text. Abbreviate journal names according to the Cumulated Index Medicus.
Technical Notes
A description of a new technique will be considered for publication but must not exceed 1500 words. The first paragraph should emphasize the importance of the new technique.
Review Process
The receipt of your manuscript by the Journal will be acknowledged and a decision regarding its disposition made as soon as possible. All manuscripts are subject to editorial review. Accepted manuscripts will be edited to enhance conciseness and clarity. Page proofs will be sent to the author for final review. The responsible author must review and return the proof within 48 hours. Reprints must be ordered using the reprint order form that accompanies the proofs.
Checklist for Manuscript Submission
Entire manuscript double-spaced.
At least 12-pitch font.
Unjustified right margin.
All pages numbered consecutively in the upper right corner.
A new page to begin section (ie, title page, abstract, text, references, legends, and tables).
Only one side of the paper used.
Full name, initials, degrees, and affiliations for each author.
Concise title of article.
Name, address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address of author to whom correspondence is to be sent.
Name and address of author to whom reprint requests should be sent.
Name of conference (if any) at which paper was presented, eg, 26th SVU Annual Conference.
Two or three keywords.
Three original copies of illustrations (photographic prints or original computer-generated illustrations) must be included.
Figure number and first author's name must be affixed to a label and placed on the back of figure. Do not write on print or reverse side.
Indicate the top edge of figure.
Indicate clearly which, if any, prints are to be printed in color.
A legend should be included on a separate page containing captions for all illustrations.
