Abstract

The end of 2022 marked the second year that the current editorial team of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound (JVU) has been at work. During that time, the editorial workflow has been updated, the Editorial Board expanded, and new article types have been introduced to offer more content and variety to our readers. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedicated efforts of Sandy Katanick as Managing Editor and Sandra Yesenko as Associate Editor for Education.
My current term as Editor-in-Chief of the JVU will expire at the end of 2023 and, although the position is renewable, I have decided that I will not be able to renew at that time. I will provide a more comprehensive review on the status of the JVU and the accomplishments over the last several years in a future issue, but my top priority now is to insure a smooth transition to a new Editor-in-Chief. Since the JVU is the official journal of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU), the leadership of the SVU is responsible for selecting the next Editor-in-Chief, and a formal search will begin soon. Details on this position and the application process are provided separately in this issue of the JVU. I would strongly encourage all those interested in editorial work and serving the vascular ultrasound community to consider this opportunity. It has been a privilege to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the JVU for this 3-year period, and I look forward to working with the new Editor-in-Chief starting in 2024.
