Abstract
The quality of any journal is entirely dependent on the rigorous assessment of submitted articles by reviewers. The policy of this journal is to send each submitted article for assessment by at least two reviewers and the editorial team gratefully acknowledge the help of the following, all of who have reviewed for the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) during 2012. In particular the editors would like to acknowledge that our reviewers are being increasingly assiduous and the average time for completion of reviews is now 14 days, which has allowed the first response times from editors to authors to reduce to 30 days.
