Where positive diagnosis of chlamydia is made in primary care, treatment is with single dose of Azithromycin 1 gm or doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for seven days for pharyngeal chlamydia or doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 3 weeks for Lymphogranuloma venereum. Test of cure is now required 6 weeks after treatment
