Abstract

Answer B. Pyoderma gangrenosum
Pyoderma gangrenosum is a less common but more severe form of peristomal skin damage. They can be associated with inflammatory bowel disease or underlying cancer. All cases of suspected pyoderma gangrenosum should be referred to the stoma care nurses and will require secondary care input. Small or superficial pyoderma gangrenosum will often respond to steroid therapy or topical tacrolimus.
