Answer A. There is a 1 in 4 chance of the offspring having sickle cell disease
Sickle cell anaemia has an autosomal recessive inheritance. Offspring of two carriers (sickle cell trait) have a 1 in 4 chance of not being affected or having the condition and a 2 of 4 chance of being a carrier.
