Abstract

The success of Shoulder and Elbow has meant that even with the current six issues annually a backlog of articles had built up prior to me taking over as Editor-in-Chief in June 2022.
My priority, over the past year, has been to explore ways of reducing this backlog and therefore I am delighted to inform you that funding has now kindly been provided by BESS (British Elbow and Shoulder Society) to allow publication of some themed supplements which we aim to publish over the next six months. These have been successful additions to our regular issues in the past. The first in this series of supplements contains articles on shoulder arthroplasty.
These supplements will greatly help clear the accepted papers which are currently hosted on the OnLine First platform within the journal website where they can be cited by the DOI number before being formally published in an issue of Shoulder and Elbow.
I hope you enjoy reading these supplements in addition to our main issues.
