Abstract

The editorial board for Electronic News is delighted to announce our upcoming special issue. As the official journal of the Broadcast and Mobile News Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, we embrace this opportunity to renew our efforts in publishing research and ideas with clear relevance to the content, practice, education, and administration of news across radio, television and mobile platforms. As we seek to engage new voices and promote scholarship from underrepresented groups, we determined that a special issue with a clear focus on international scholarship would best serve our community of scholars and practitioners.
We invite you to spread the word in your networks and to help us expand our understanding of our discipline.
Electronic News Special Issue:
Deadline for submissions: June 1, 2022
Expected publication: Winter 2022
Guest editor: Dr. Raluca Cozma, Kansas State University, cozma@ksu.edu
Electronic News invites submissions that explore recent developments in broadcast and mobile journalism in all world regions. We especially encourage contributions that investigate changing journalism practices, emerging news cultures, the impact of mobile technologies on news routines and engagement with audiences and sources, and issues of media freedom, ethics, and news flows in different political contexts and media systems. Cross-national comparisons and studies focusing on the Global South are of particular interest.
This special issue of Electronic News aims to provide a better understanding of how radio, TV, and mobile news is produced around the globe, at a time where the world is more interconnected than ever. Diverse methodological approaches and theoretical frameworks are welcomed.
