Abstract
To test the hypothesis that Streit Family Communication Workshops improve perception, this study utilized a pretest-posttest design to evaluate several families who participated in the Streit Workshop. Changes in perception, as well as other variables, were measured by the Moos Family Environment Scale. Significant results were found on two scales: Conflict and Moral-Religious Emphasis, thus indicating the viability of the Streit Workshop in changing perception. In brief, changes occurred in the experimental population which should lead toward decreased use of drugs. These findings suggest further evaluation of duration of change as well as correlation of change with future drug usage.
