Summary
A superfusion system for hy-pothalamic tissue is reported and the secretion rate of LH-RH is analyzed under different experimental conditions. The responsiveness of the preparation to stimuli like high K+, low Ca2+, and prostaglandin E2 was assessed. The usefulness of this preparation as an in vitro system to study the secretion rate of hypothalamic hormones is discussed.
