Abstract

Over 800 delegates attending the CPhA Centennial conference were treated to a thought-provoking opening presentation by keynote speaker Dr. David Suzuki. Dr. Suzuki commended pharmacists for recognizing that they must understand their past in order to realize what the future may hold. He compared the situation of the pharmacy profession with that of the environment — warning us not to lose the ability to look into the future and prepare now for the challenges we face.
Delegates enjoyed many opportunities to celebrate the rich and colourful history of the Association throughout the conference. As well, they were treated to excellent sessions on a broad spectrum of issues — everything from pharmacy security and communicating with physicians to the expanding scope of practice — all with the potential to affect pharmacy's future.
