Welcome
Dear friends, dear colleagues, dear members of EHS,
It is a great honor for me to welcome all of you to the 11 th Congress of the European Hip Society in the lovely city of Stockholm, also called “The Venice of the North”.
The scientific program aims to cover the main hot topics of all hip pathologies: from pediatrics to geriatrics with osteoporotic complications, from conservative surgery to various prosthetic considerations including revisions. We have scheduled 9 Symposia, each based on a theme and 9 Instructional Courses. Some 500 abstracts were submitted from 40 different countries, both within and beyond Europe. After the reviewing process, 215 papers have been accepted for oral presentation and divided according to the topics into 24 different sessions. The nine best abstracts, presented in a special session, will compete for two awards. 157 more abstracts have been selected for e-poster presentation, workstations to view the e-poster sessions are available in the exhibition during the Congress days. E-posters will be made available on-line after the Congress.
I hope that these two and half very busy days will be rich with scientific information and will inspire debate among the attendees and I am sure that they will constitute an opportunity for all of us to improve our knowledge and skills. I want to thank all the members of the SciCom for supporting me in organizing this important event, the organizing secretary for the technical help, the reviewers for the excellent job in evaluating all the submitted papers, the sponsoring industries and above all the speakers for their high scientific contribution to the 11th Congress of the European Hip Society.
