Abstract

Make sure you book early to ensure the session and location of your choice. Allow plenty of time to get to and park at the assessment centre on the day and consider a ‘test drive’ if you are unfamiliar with its location. When you arrive you will be required to show two forms of identification—one should be your driving licence or passport and the other needs to show your name and signature (e.g. a bank card). Ensure your forms of identification show the same name as each other and that by which you are registered with the RCGP. You will then be provided with a locker to store all your personal belongings as you are not permitted to take anything with you into the test room. Any calculation based questions will need to be answered without the use of a calculator. If you need to take essential medication with you into the assessment room, please contact the RCGP in advance. You are allowed to leave the room for water and toilet breaks but you will not be granted additional examination time for this.
