First announcement – DATE FOR YOUR DIARY The School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork (Ireland) and the International Care Ethics Observatory of the University of Surrey (UK) invite practitioners, researchers, educators, managers and students in the field of health and social care from around the world to attend and participate in the 19th Nursing Ethics Conference and 4th International Ethics in Care Conference in Cork, Ireland, in 2018.

This is an excellent opportunity to reflect on longstanding and current challenges of ethics in nursing and care. The focus of the conference is on:

- Global Ethical Issues in Care Provision

- Ethics Education in Nursing and Care: new perspectives

Persons wishing to present papers at parallel sessions are invited to submit an abstract addressing the ethical dimensions of the main conference topics (300 words maximum) before March 1, 2018. Issues of particular interest would include but are not restricted to:

- feminist perspectives on care

- nursing research through the lens of gender

- the history of nursing and gender

INEQUALITIES IN CARE PROVISION

- access, opportunities and scarce resources

- sexism, racism, classism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, ethnocentrism

GLOBAL ETHICAL ISSUES IN CARE PROVISION

- multicultural/transcultural care

- ethical tourism and care

- international recruitment, workforce migration in nursing

- borders, refugees and disaster zones

ETHICS EDUCATION IN NURSING AND CARE: NEW PERSPECTIVES

- designing radical curricula in ethics education

- teaching strategies to address inequality

- experiential and peer learning in ethics

- negotiating religious and cultural diversity in the classroom

Papers will be selected from the abstracts by the Conference Scientific Committee.
