Current evidence suggests that:
the relapse rate is stable or declines during pregnancy particularly in the third trimester the relapse rate increases during the first 3 months post-partum the relapse rate returns to pre-pregnancy rate 6 months post-partum there is no association between pregnancy and worsening of long-term disability there is no association between oral contraceptive use, breast-feeding, epidural analgesia or the number of pregnancies and MS relapses
