Abstract

Answer B. Extensively hydrolysed formula for 2–4 weeks followed by oral challenge with standard formula
The initial management in this case would be a trial of extensively hydrolysed formula (eHF) for 2–4 weeks followed by reintroduction. This is first choice for formula-fed infants with suspected cow’s milk protein allergy. After 4 weeks, a reintroduction or challenge is mandatory to confirm the diagnosis.
