Answer C. Routine referral to paediatric cardiology for outpatient echocardiography
A new systolic murmur in an otherwise well neonate requires further assessment to rule out congenital heart disease (CHD), even in the absence of other concerning features, and in this case, a routine referral for outpatient paediatric cardiology assessment is appropriate.
